Olympic qualifier William Nylander scored on a penalty shot as his Toronto Maple Leafs beat Vancouver in the NHL last night.

After missing seven games due to a groin injury, William Nylander returned to action last night. The game remained scoreless until it was decided in a shootout after a goalless overtime period.

William Nylander and Auston Matthews each scored in the shootout, securing the extra point for Toronto.

The match was otherwise full of blue-and-yellow points. Vancouver's Tom Willander and Jonathan Lekkerimäki each scored, while teammates Elias Pettersson and Liam Öhgren each had an assist. In Toronto, Oliver Ekman-Larsson played until the 1–1 goal.

The match ended 3–2 for Toronto after the shootout.
