When national team coach Carlo Ancelotti presented his squad for this summer's championship on Monday, he chose to include Neymar, who had not been selected for three years after a major knee injury.
"Those who have been with me through everything know that it was difficult, it was tough. But after hearing my name on the list, all the sacrifices and all the effort were worth it," Neymar said in a video on Santos' social media, according to ESPN.
Neymar is Brazil's all-time leading goalscorer and has been playing in his home country since last year. He has previously represented big clubs such as Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
