Brazilian soccer star Neymar has undergone knee surgery, according to the BBC, after suffering an injury earlier this fall.

The 33-year-old was forced to undergo surgery on his left knee due to a badly damaged meniscus.

The BBC also reports that the operation was successful.

Neymar has struggled with injuries in recent years, tearing his cruciate ligament in 2023 while playing for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

The former Barcelona and PSG star is hoping to make the Brazil squad for next year's World Cup, and is now a member of his boyhood club Santos.

National team captain Carlo Ancelotti has previously responded to this by saying that Neymar needs to play more matches before he can be available for the national team again.

Neymar has scored 79 goals in 128 matches for Brazil and is the country's all-time top scorer, but has not played an international match in over two years.
