The assault occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on Tuesday when the newspaper delivery man refused to let the men into a stairwell.
The men allegedly broke the window in the entrance door during the assault, the police wrote on their website.
The police have arrested both men on suspicion of assault, vandalism, violent resistance and threats against an official.
