Newcastle has offered Nottingham Forrest around 580 million kronor for the Swedish winger Anthony Elanga, according to The Athletic.
The bid is said to have been rejected without a counteroffer by Nottingham, who have no plans to sell the 23-year-old.
Newcastle is now considering making another bid, the site writes.
Elanga was recruited by Nottingham from Manchester United in 2023 and scored 6 goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League matches last season. His contract runs until the summer of 2028.
In Newcastle – which finished fifth in the Premier League last season – Swedes Alexander Isak and Emil Krafth have been playing since before.
