Manchester City are through to the League Cup final at Wembley after their convincing 3-1 (5-1 aggregate) victory over Newcastle in the semi-final.

At halftime of today's match, City led 3–0 after two goals from Omar Marmoush and one from Tijjani Reijnders.

Anthony Elanga was brought on for Newcastle in the second half, and 15 minutes later the Swede scored a brilliant solo goal, but it was a small consolation.

After the first meeting in January, City won 2–0. The Manchester team thus won the semi-final 5–1 on aggregate.

In addition to Newcastle's defeat, star Anthony Gordon was also taken off injured at the end of the first half. Harvey Barnes took his place in the starting eleven.

In the League Cup final on March 22, City will face Arsenal, following Arsenal's semi-final victory over Chelsea on Tuesday.
