They have been waiting for 70 years.
So when Newcastle United's fans finally got a new title to celebrate – yes, then they really celebrated.
Enormous crowds – it was previously mentioned that 150,000 people – had gone out onto the streets of Newcastle on Saturday to pay tribute to the fresh league cup champions during their bus parade through the city.
One of the big heroes was Swedish national team striker Alexander Isak, who scored the 2–0 goal when Liverpool was defeated 2–1 in the final at Wembley almost two weeks ago.
It's going to be fun to return to the celebrations with the team and get to see some reactions in the city. I haven't been back in Newcastle since we won, said Alexander Isak during the national team gathering this week.
