On its website, Newcastle confirms that Jaissle will take over the team, as reported in several media outlets.
"It is a great honour to become Newcastle's head coach. This is one of the biggest clubs in European football, with a unique history," Jaissle said in a statement.
The 38-year-old coach is leaving Saudi club al-Ahli, which he has coached since 2023. Jaissle has previously coached Salzburg and Liefering, and has also been a youth coach within the Red Bull Group.
"We have carried out a thorough process and he has emerged as the obvious candidate for the role. He has all the qualities we were looking for," said Newcastle chief executive David Hopkinson.
Last week, former coach Eddie Howe left after five years.
