The far right in the European Parliament is making another attempt to remove Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

A vote of no confidence will be held in the European Parliament next Thursday, January 22, the far-right group PFE on X announces.

The group, which includes the French National Rally and Hungarian Fidesz, has been angered by the EU's planned trade agreement with the Mercosur countries in South America.

“A death sentence for our farmers and the end of our food independence,” PFE says.

The vote will be the fourth against von der Leyen since last summer, but it is also not expected to gather a sufficient majority to force von der Leyen and her entire commission to resign.
