New rules for the unemployment insurance fund were introduced in the autumn of 2025. Now, using statistics from the Unemployment Insurance Inspectorate (IAF), Arbetet has reviewed how they affect the number of compensation days.
At most, you can get 300 days in a tier where the number of days decreases if you do not meet certain income requirements in previous employment.
30 percent of LO groups receive fewer than 300 days. Among salaried employees, the proportion is half as large, 16 percent.
Under the old unemployment insurance rules, the main rule was that everyone who qualified for unemployment insurance received compensation for 300 days.
Part-time work is very common in the cleaning industry. And the salaries are lower than among members of many other unemployment funds, says Fastighets' treasurer Richard Dimberg to the newspaper.
