The video clip shows a few explosions at an industrial facility illuminating the darkness of the night. Independent media outlets such as Russia's Astra determined that the attacks were aimed at an oil refinery outside the city of Saratov, about 500 kilometers from Ukraine's eastern border.
The Ukrainian military later announced that an attack had been directed at that particular refinery and that it had caused a fire there. The facility has been attacked several times before during the war.
It is unclear how much damage was done to the refinery. Russia's pro-regime war commentators also note that they "have received information about an attack on an oil refinery in Saratov," but do not elaborate.
The airport in Saratov reportedly had to close to traffic for over six hours.
Ukraine's counterattacks in Russia have largely been directed at gas and oil – the main source of income for the Russian war economy.
