The streaming service Spotify is to launch a new tier on its premium subscriptions for its most frequent listeners later this year, reports news agency Bloomberg, citing a source.
For a price tag of 5 dollars per month (equivalent to just over 50 kronor), Spotify will offer higher sound quality and new tools for creating playlists and managing music catalogues.
The offer – which has been referred to as Supremium in industry media – will be targeted at existing subscribers, as an upgrade.
Spotify has adjusted its prices recently, most recently in the US, where the price of a standard subscription was increased by 1 dollar per month to 11.99 dollars per month.
Spotify is among the winners on Wall Street this year, with a share price rise from nearly 190 dollars to a high of over 330 dollars per share last week.
