The "likeness detection" tool has previously been available to a small group of YouTube users and will be rolled out widely "in the coming weeks" to anyone with an account on the video platform, according to Google.
The requirements to use the tool are being over 18 and identifying yourself with a valid ID in an uploaded video clip.
YouTube will also make labeling of AI-created content clearer and introduce automatic detection of AI-generated photorealistic videos.
