The Government has decided on additional humanitarian aid to Gaza of 40 million kronor.

The aid, which goes to the UN's children's organization Unicef, will be used, among other things, for supplies during the winter.

"The children in Gaza are terribly exposed and are experiencing appalling conditions in the war that has been going on for over a year. The cold and rain during the winter make the situation even more difficult," says Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa (The Moderate Party) in a press release.

"Sweden's aid goes towards strengthening Unicef's work in assisting children with basic needs such as clothing, shoes, protection, education, and efforts for psychosocial support," he continues.

Since October 2023, Sweden has contributed over 630 million kronor in targeted humanitarian aid to Gaza.
