The assault occurred outdoors in the morning near a school in central Viksjö a week ago. The incident prompted the municipality to urge parents with children in primary school to accompany them to and from school in the coming days.
According to SVT Stockholm, the suspect was arrested and detained on Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday, a person who had been detained in the case on suspicion of aggravated rape of a child was released. This after the prosecutor no longer considered the person a suspect when "new circumstances emerged."
