When they compete in Stockholm on June 7, both long-distance runners will step down to 1,500 meters.
"I'm looking forward to standing on the starting line together with Andreas Almgren, who is an absolutely world-class runner. We will offer a fast race and chase a sub-3:30 in the 1,500 meters in Stockholm," says Gressier in a statement.
Gressier beat Almgren in the 10,000 meters in the 2025 World Championships final to secure the first World Championships gold of his career. Almgren, in turn, took bronze and secured Sweden's first-ever World Championships medal in long-distance running.
