Schools are closed in southern Spain as heavy rains hit the Andalusia region. The train line between Córdoba, Seville and Malaga is closed, as are about 40 roads in the worst-hit area.
The storm, called Leonardo, could cause severe flooding and landslides, according to the weather agency Aemet.
The "extraordinary" amount of rain is hitting a region where the ground is already saturated and riverbeds are filled with water, said agency spokesman Rubén del Campo.
