It is Disney that announces that the film, which so far has no official name, will come in July in two years.
The upcoming film seems to be a direct sequel to the only "Simpsons" film so far ("The Simpsons movie"), which came in 2007. On a poster, the character Homer is seen holding a donut with twos and the text reads "Homer's coming back for seconds".
The animated comedy series about the yellow inhabitants of the fictional city of Springfield – where the Simpson family is in focus – has recently started its 37th season on American TV. No other comedy series in the USA has been broadcast for as long.
