The 39-year-old man died from his injuries at a boat ramp after being pulled from the water following the attack at Kennedy Shoal, according to a statement from Queensland Police on Sunday.
Australia has suffered several shark attacks in 2026, including fatal attacks in Sydney Harbour, Rottnest Island, and most recently in Queensland. Several other people have also been injured in attacks along the country's east coast, particularly in New South Wales.
