On August 6, new episodes of "Wednesday" will be available on Netflix. Jenna Ortega plays the lead role, the teenage daughter in the Addams Family – familiar from several TV series and biofilms.
Season two is produced, just like the first season, by, among others, Tim Burton, who has directed four of the season's eight episodes.
The Addams Family was created as a kind of distorted reflection of the American nuclear family by cartoonist Charles Addams as early as 1938. First in The New Yorker as a comic strip, later on film and on TV as a film and series.
In the new season, guest starring, among others, Steve Buscemi, Joanna Lumley, and Christopher Lloyd – who played the role of Uncle Fester in the "Addams Family" film from 1991. However, he will not be playing that role this time, as it has already been taken by Fred Armisen.
