At least three students are among the dead, according to Kahramanmaras Province Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer. The shooter is also dead, according to the AP.
"A student came to school with a gun in his backpack that we believe belonged to his father. He entered two classrooms and opened fire indiscriminately," he told reporters.
Three of the injured are in critical condition, according to Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
On Tuesday, 16 people, mostly students, were injured in a school shooting in the nearby province of Sanliurfa.
