The first award of the prize, which is to be distributed every year, will take place in the autumn. An organization will then receive around 1.8 million kronor, and the person or group of people will receive up to 200,000 kronor to be able to continue their efforts for Ukraine.

"It is a fantastic commitment - by Swedish enthusiasts, enterprises, non-profit organizations, municipalities, educational institutions and others. The award will go to recipients who have made particularly important civilian efforts for Ukraine and demonstrated decisiveness, humanity, courage and perseverance", writes Minister for Foreign Aid and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa (M) in a press release.

The prize is administered by the Swedish Institute.
