The photos, released at the initiative of the Democrats, show Epstein with several influential and powerful men. It is unknown who took the photos, but they were previously in Epstein's possession.
US President Donald Trump appears in several of the images, including one surrounded by women. One image shows a bowl of “Trump condoms,” with condom packages adorned with a drawing of the future president.
Others appearing in the photos include Trump's former advisor Steve Bannon, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, former British Prince Andrew, film director Woody Allen, billionaire Richard Branson, former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and high-profile lawyer Alan Dershowitz.
Epstein's convicted partner Ghislaine Maxwell is also seen.
The first 19 photos were followed by more than 70 more later in the evening, reports the BBC , among others. In total, the Democrats have committed to reviewing over 95,000 photos from Epstein's estate.
The images are not the so-called “Epstein Files,” the documentation in the criminal investigation against Epstein. Those documents must, by law, be released by the Justice Department by next week.
Parts of the images have been edited, including masking the faces of several of the women in the images. The images are said to not show any explicit sexual abuse and none of the women are said to be minors, according to CNN .
The connection between Epstein and several of those in the photos was already known.
