The photos and film clips were released at the initiative of Democrats in the House of Representatives and show environments reminiscent of a luxury resort.
According to a memorandum from the US Department of Justice, there are over a thousand victims of crimes linked to Epstein over a 20-year period. These include trafficking, sex purchases, abuse, sex with minors and girls who, according to their own statements, were kept as “sex slaves” – including on the private island in the Caribbean.
The images show several well-sized bedrooms, as well as a large swimming pool with an associated recreation area located near the sea, as well as a room with what appears to be a dentist's chair and several face masks on the walls, CNN reports. In another room, there is a chalkboard on which someone has written words like "power" and "misdirection."
The release of the images comes ahead of the release of the Epstein investigation, which is expected to take place in the coming days. The decision to release the files has led to conflicts within Republicans and put heavy pressure on President Donald Trump, who only approved the release after anger within his own ranks.
