The 65-year-old artist said this on New Order's official website, writes Billboard.
Recently, her partner Stephen Morris, also a member of New Order, revealed that he had some health problems, which many interpreted as meaning he had cancer. Gilbert denies this in her post.
"I would like to clear up a misunderstanding from the interview, where certain statements were misinterpreted to make people think Stephen was seriously ill. Thankfully he is doing well. In fact, it is I, like many others, who am living with cancer," wrote Gillian Gilbert.
She herself does not know how far the disease has progressed.
