Oscar Wester has been the national team captain for two years and his contract will not be extended. The Swedish Ski Association says in a press release that, after the Olympics, they are entering a new phase with investments toward the World Championships in 2027 and 2029, and the Olympics in 2030.
"We see that the program is ready to take the next step, and we are very happy to bring Calle into this role. He will play an important role in continuing to develop the team and build capacity towards upcoming championships," says sports director Stefan Karlsson.
