Only days after LeBron James became the first player in history to reach 50,000 points in the NBA's regular season and playoffs, the 40-year-old injured himself in the final stage of Saturday's away game against Boston.

Then Los Angeles Lakers suffered their first loss after winning eight straight matches. Away against Brooklyn, they suffered their second straight defeat when LeBron James sat on the sidelines, but without being substituted.

There have been reports that the star will be out for one to two weeks due to the groin injury, but coach JJ Redick says that his injury is still being examined.

In the 2018-2019 season, James missed 17 matches due to a groin injury.
