A new extensive data breach has been discovered at the American mobile operator AT&T.

The leak, which occurred between May 1 and October 31, 2022, is said to have included SMS and calls from all customers of the company.

AT&T became aware of the intrusion in April. Much is still unclear about the leak, but according to Bloomberg, the information was downloaded via the cloud service company Snowflake. The company has not yet commented on the reports.

As recently as last spring, AT&T was affected by another intrusion. Information from around 7.6 million subscribers and 65.4 million former subscribers had leaked onto the darknet. At the time, it involved, among other things, social security numbers – a kind of American personal identification number – registered up to 2019.
