"Erica and Patrik have followed me for so many years and it has been a lot of fun to explore them in a new story that is both exciting and emotionally strong. Returning to Fjällbacka in a new version feels very nice, and I am incredibly happy about the strong team we have around the production," says Camilla Läckberg in a press release.
The six-episode series will premiere on SVT next summer and is directed by Liza Farzaneh.
"This becomes a real 'who can I trust' story when the past comes to the surface and affects our characters in the present," says Johanna Gårdare, head of drama at SVT.
The series will also be shown in the rest of the Nordic countries, as well as Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
