The first winner of the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern International Picture Book Prize will be announced in September, and the award ceremony will take place during the new event “Picture Book Day”.
The purpose of both the prize and Picture Book Day is to draw attention to picture book creators and the picture book as an art form.
It is incredibly fun and much anticipated to meet in in-depth and inspiring conversations about a unique art form and its creative potential, says Pontus Kipowski, programme manager for literature at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.
Picture Book Day will be held on November 18, and among others, Pija Lindenbaum, Jockum Nordström and Italian picture book creator Felicita Sala will participate.
