Bratt scored the go-ahead goal for New Jersey on the road in Montreal and then made it 2-0 with a backhand, both points in the first period.
Going into the third, New Jersey was leading, but the home team tied it up, and in overtime, with 54 seconds left, New Jersey won through Jack Hughes.
This was New Jersey's first match after Jacob Markström's injury in the win against Boston on Wednesday. His absence is a major setback for New Jersey, and likely also for Tre Kronor in the Four Nations, which starts on February 11. Markström has a stretched ligament in one knee and risks being out for up to six weeks.
Marky has been our best player this year (read: season) and he'll definitely be that when he's back. We just have to try to hold the fort until then, says Markström's replacement Jake Allen, who saved 29 shots in the match.
