State politician Inganamort believes that since the state paid most of the equivalent of 126 million kronor to build the grass pitch at MetLife Stadium, Fifa and the local organizing committee cannot sell the grass and share the proceeds.

“What is happening is not only a bad deal for New Jersey taxpayers, it is illegal,” Inganamort said in a press release to Politico.

He wants New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill to do everything in her power to stop the sale and also apply for a legal injunction.
