The death toll from the Israeli attacks has risen further on Wednesday evening, according to the Hamas-controlled Civil Defense.
The fatalities include 14 in Gaza City in the northern part of the Strip and 13 in the Khan Yunis area in the south. The data was also confirmed by local hospitals.
According to Israel, the airstrikes are a response to members of the terrorist group Hamas allegedly firing at Israeli soldiers in Khan Yunis. The Hamas attack is described as "a violation of the ceasefire agreement."
No Israeli soldiers were reported to have been injured in the shooting.
Hamas, in turn, calls Israel's actions a "dangerous escalation" in a statement.
The current attacks are among the deadliest since the ceasefire began on October 10.
