The death toll from the Israeli attacks rose from eleven to a total of 22 people on Wednesday evening, according to the Hamas-controlled Civil Defense. Among the dead were twelve in the northern part of the Strip and ten in the Khan Yunis area in southern Gaza.
According to Israel, the airstrikes are a response to members of the terrorist group Hamas allegedly firing at Israeli soldiers in Khan Yunis.
Hamas' attack is described as "a violation of the ceasefire agreement."
No Israeli soldiers were reported to have been injured in the shooting.
