Manchester City's star striker Vivianne Miedema has been forced to undergo a new knee operation, announces the Super League club on its website.
The operation was successful, but it is unclear how long the 28-year-old Dutchwoman will be out.
Miedema tore her cruciate ligament in December 2022 and was not back in play until the autumn of the following year. Even last year, when she was at Arsenal, she underwent a minor operation on her troublesome left knee.
She moved to City before this season and started well in her new club, with two goals in five matches. Manchester City tops the English top league after four rounds, but Miedema has not been able to play since mid-October.
