Through the agency of other gaming companies, Hello Kitty has been featured in computer games before, but for its Japanese owner the games are a new venture.

The aim is to give Hello Kitty new fans, CEO Tomokuni Tsuji said at a press conference:

We also want to approach people who have not traditionally been fans, he said, citing boys and adult men as examples.

The first Hello Kitty game is called “Sanrio Party Land” and will be launched this fall. So far, there have been many Hello Kitty products made - and sold - but the stories about the cat’s life and history are few. However, a new film is coming in 2028.
