The new grades will only come into effect in 2028, the government proposes in a referral to the legislative council, according to Vi Lärare.

In the grading report, presented last year, investigator Magnus Henrekson proposed that the new system would come into effect in 2027.

The government wants to postpone it by a year, according to a proposal submitted to the Legislative Council. For municipal adults, it would not apply until 2031.

The investigation proposed, among other things, a new ten-point grading scale with no strict cutoff for failing, and that grades should be weighed against the results of national exams.

According to Vi Lärare, the government has not moved forward with the inquiry's proposal to lower requirements for upper secondary school leaving exams.
