The new novel is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2027, several decades after the last “Godfather” film and more than ten years since the last “Godfather” novel was released.
The novel is approved by the estate of Mario Puzo and written by Adriana Trigiani. “Connie” revolves around Connie Corleone, daughter of Vito Corleone and sister of Michael, Sonny, and Fredo, and is the family member played by Talia Shire in the three “Godfather” films.
The novel is the third "The Godfather" book approved by the estate and the first written by a woman.
Mario Puzo, whose best-selling 1969 novel was the basis for the films, died in 1999.
