The International Football Association (Fifa) had a collaboration with gaming giant Electronic Arts (EA) for decades.
The "Fifa" games were a cash cow for both Fifa and EA. However, a few years ago, they disagreed on the revenue distribution in the agreement. The result was that EA continued to develop "Fifa" but renamed the game to "FC". Fifa, on the other hand, said they would "look for new collaboration partners". This has now resulted in the American Mythic launching "Fifa Rivals" just in time for the summer's club World Championship in the USA.
"Fifa Rivals" is a mobile game with even more focus on in-game purchases than "FC" has developed into. A short trailer for the game has been released, where the focus is on superpowers and colorful aesthetics.
