The email comes a week after a similar mass email from Elon Musk, who leads Donald Trump's White House initiative Doge (Department of government efficiency) whose mission is to streamline government agencies and make savings. He then warned that employees would be fired if they did not respond.
Just like the previous email, employees are to list five points about what they have accomplished in the past week. Now, it is also said to become a weekly task.
The new email, which comes from the White House personnel unit OPM on Friday, has created confusion among employees as several federal authorities had previously urged them to ignore the previous email.
Elon Musk has not commented on the new email.
