Unions and employers have agreed on a new collective agreement for Sweden's agriculture.

The new agreement between Green employers and the Food Workers' Union applies for two years and follows the industrial agreement with a pay increase of 6.4 percent.

The weather dependence of the agricultural sector means that the need for labor varies over the year, according to Green employers' chief negotiator Anna Vargö.

"The need for working hours varies with the seasons and we are therefore pleased that the agreement now provides the opportunity for longer scheduling periods", she says in a press release.
