The oil tanker Sea Owl 1 was boarded on March 12 outside Trelleborg on suspicion of sailing under a false flag in Swedish territorial waters. The captain was arrested and detained but was later released.
Now a new crew member aboard the ship has been arrested on suspicion of using a false document, writes the Coast Guard.
According to several media outlets, it is the new captain of the ship who has been arrested.
The ship Sea Owl 1 recently reflagged from the Comoros to Cameroon in order to obtain permission to sail and leave Sweden. However, the reflagging turned out to be false, and plans to release the ship were halted.
