Ludvig Åberg's nightmare start to the season continues. In the PGA Tour event in California, he is 77th - out of 80 players.

This week's competition is being played at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, and the Swedish golf star began by shooting 75 strokes (three over par) on the latter course.

After just three holes, Åberg was three over par, having hit into the water on a short hole, among other things. In total, he had six bogeys and one double bogey - but also five birdies.

Ryo Hisatsune of Japan leads after a 62 on the classic Pebble Beach course. Alex Norén is tied for 28th place, six strokes behind.

This is Ludvig Åberg's third competition of the year and he has been unrecognizable so far. He withdrew from the first because of illness, and in the second he missed the cut by a wide margin.
