Three more astronauts – one American and two Russians – have arrived at the International Space Station (ISS).

The trio was launched from the Russian-controlled Baikonur space base in Kazakhstan and was able to dock at the ISS after just over three hours.

They are expected to be there for the next eight months to conduct scientific research, among other things.

They join seven astronauts already on the station. However, on December 8, three of them will be launched back to Earth after completing an eight-month mission on the station.
