The company Green Tech Recycling Sweden Tires will grind down 22,400 tonnes of tyres a year, process the material and turn it into raw materials that can, for example, be used to make new tyres.

Today, a large share of the roughly 100,000 tonnes of tyres collected annually is incinerated.

It is simply a really bad idea for the environment not to recycle them, says Magnus Gink of Green Tech Recycling.

He expects 40 employees when the factory is operational in 2028, and says it is difficult to finance industrial projects today.

In the long term, this will be a great and profitable business. But to get started with the financing, government money is absolutely necessary.
