Bayern Munich had hoped to get their star goalkeeper Manuel Neuer back for Wednesday's quarterfinal return against Inter in the Champions League. But despite the 39-year-old football veteran traveling with the team to Milan, he will not play.

Neuer suffered a nasty ankle injury when he celebrated a Bayern goal in the Champions League round of 16 against Bayer Leverkusen at the beginning of March. He has missed seven straight matches since then.
Prior to Wednesday's decisive match, Inter has the advantage after winning 2–1 in Munich last week.
