The Netherlands – with Swede Henrik Signell as national team captain – got off to a great start in the quarter-finals in Rotterdam and led 14–9 at half-time. A goal advantage that laid the foundation for the 28–23 victory.
The Dutch team is now through to the semi-finals and will next face Norway.
France also advanced after a 31–26 win against Denmark. Germany awaits in the semi-finals.
The semifinals will be played on Friday and the medal matches will be decided on Sunday.
