The novel has already been staged, starring Anna Granath. In the Netflix film directed by Johanna Runevad, Eva Melander plays Agneta, who moves to Provence and rediscovers joy in life.
Eva Melander had her major public breakthrough in 2018 in the film "Border", which earned her a Guldbagge. "Je m'appelle Agneta" will premiere on Netflix this spring.
On Wednesday, Netflix announced a number of new releases coming to the streaming service this year. Among other things, it revealed that Adam Pålsson is directing the romantic comedy "Just for Christmas" about two sisters who must swap lives in the weeks before Christmas.
The siblings are played by real-life sisters Felice and Happy Jankell, with Christian Fandango and Celie Sparre in other major roles in the film, which will premiere later this year.
Netflix also confirms that a third season of "Love is blind: Sweden" will come in 2026 with Jessica Almenäs as host, but the popular dating reality show has not yet received a premiere date.
It is also clear that Henrik Dorsin's new film "The Swedish Link", which is produced for Netflix, will have its theatrical premiere on February 6 and will come to the streaming service two weeks later.
Sissela Benn, Jonas Karlsson and Marianne Mörck play other major roles in the drama about foreign ministry officials who use bureaucracy to save Jews and to prepare for a threatened German invasion of Sweden during World War II.
