The series will be about Mangs, the police investigation, the victims and "what happens to a community held hostage by a murderer for seven years."
The script is written by Wilhelm Behrman and Niklas Rockström, the authors behind "Caliphate" and "The Unlikely Murderer".
"There are many today who have either forgotten or are too young to know about the Malmö shootings, but the victims are important to remember and we need to learn from the events," the two creators say, according to the press release.
The series is directed by Måns Månsson ("Estonia"). It is not clear when the TV series will air.
