The amount of original content released in the first quarter has varied, from two in 2016 to 39 in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the number dropped, but rose again to 46 in 2021 and to 50 in 2022 - and then remained steady at around 35 until 2025.
But this year, the number dropped to 23, the lowest number since 2017, according to the report.
The number of TV series has also declined, but not as drastically. The number of new seasons now stands at 49, compared to a peak of 71 in 2020.
