On May 15, the price of a basic Netflix subscription will increase by SEK 20, from SEK 109 to SEK 129. The price of standard and premium subscriptions will also increase by SEK 20 to SEK 169 and SEK 219, respectively.
"We are updating our prices to continue investing in quality entertainment and improving the user experience for our members," Netflix wrote in a press release.
The price to add an extra external user to your account will increase from SEK 55 to SEK 65.
The last time Netflix raised prices in Sweden was in October 2024.
Several international streaming services have introduced ad-supported subscriptions at lower prices, including HBO Max and Disney+. Netflix has done so too, but not in Sweden – until now.
Next year, an ad-supported subscription will launch in Sweden as well. Netflix is not revealing exactly how much it will cost, but the company describes it as "price-friendly."
"We will share more details and a concrete timeline at a later date," the company wrote in its press release.
Netflix is the largest international streaming service on the Swedish market. According to the analysis company Mediavision, 1.8 million Swedes paid for the service in 2025.
